Mobile App
Using the App as an Attendee
The attendee view of the GatherHub app puts everything for your event in five tabs along the bottom of the screen: what's happening today, the agenda, your ticket, people to meet, and everything else.
New to the app? Start with Getting the app.
My events
Open the app outside an event and you see My events, grouped into Happening now, Upcoming and Past. Tap an event to open its Home.
When you aren't inside an event, the tabs still point at one event for you: the one happening now, or else your next upcoming event, or else your most recent one. If you have no events yet, you only see Home, Connect and Profile.
The tabs
| Tab | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Home | "Today" for the event: check-in status, what's up next, what's live now, your stats |
| Agenda | Sessions, My schedule, Activities, Speakers |
| Ticket (centre) | Your ticket, Check in, Kit, Certificates |
| Connect | People, Social wall, Stage screen, Contacts, Scan card, My card |
| More | A panel with Engage, Content, Rewards, Event and Account |
When a tab has several pages, buttons at the top let you move between them. A page only shows up when the organizer has turned that feature on, so you may see fewer pages than listed here.
Home: Today
Home changes with the state of the event:
- Before you check in, it shows that you haven't checked in yet and how to do it.
- During the event, it shows when you checked in, what's Up next in your schedule, and a Live now list with open polls, Q&A and surveys waiting for you.
- Before an upcoming event, it shows the event's date and venue.
- After the event, it shows a wrap-up recap.
Your stats (points, badges, rank, sessions, activities and kit) sit at the bottom.
Open Home once before the event
Open the event's Home while you have internet. The app then keeps your ticket on your phone, so it still opens with no signal at the venue. See Using the app without internet.
Agenda
| Page | What you see |
|---|---|
| Sessions | All sessions of the event |
| My schedule | Sessions by day, including the ones you're registered for |
| Activities | Activities you can join |
| Speakers | Who's speaking |
Sessions and My schedule appear only when the event has sessions. Activities appears only when the event has activities.
Ticket
The centre tab holds your ticket and everything you need at the door.
Your ticket
The ticket shows the QR code to present at the entrance, your ticket number, ticket type, check-in time, your details, the event's date and venue, and a Download Ticket button.
Show the QR at full brightness
Turn your screen brightness up when a crew member scans your ticket. The QR always sits on a white background, even in dark mode, so it scans reliably.
Check in yourself
Some events let you check yourself in with an event QR code shown at the entrance or on screen.
- Open Ticket and choose Check in.
- Choose Scan QR and tap Enable Camera, then point your camera at the event QR. If the camera won't work, choose Enter code and type the code the organizer shows. You can also scan the event QR with your phone's built-in camera app.
- If the organizer needs more details from you (for example a company name or a dietary choice), fill them in when asked. Your check-in counts once you save.
- If the event requires a check-in photo, take a selfie when asked. If photos are optional, you may be offered one after checking in.
Checking yourself in needs internet
Scanning the event QR and entering a code both need internet. If there's no signal at the venue, show your ticket to a crew member instead. Crew can scan you without internet.
Kit
If the event hands out a kit (for example a lanyard or a goodie bag), Kit shows which items you've collected.
Certificates
Certificates lists the certificates you've earned for the event, with the issue date and status. Tap Download to save it, or Verify to open the page that proves it's genuine. See My Certificates.
Connect
| Page | What it's for |
|---|---|
| People | Your card and the contacts you've made at this event (when networking is on for the event) |
| Social wall | Posts from attendees (when the organizer turns it on) |
| Stage screen | Send a short message to the screen on stage |
| Contacts | Everyone you've exchanged cards with |
| Scan card | Scan another attendee's digital card QR to save them as a contact |
| My card | Your digital business card and its QR code |
To swap details with someone, one of you opens My card and the other opens Scan card.
The More panel
Tap More to open a panel with the rest of the event:
| Section | Items |
|---|---|
| Engage | Polls, Q&A, Surveys |
| Content | Recordings, Materials, Gallery |
| Rewards | Leaderboard, Badges, Referral |
| Event | Event info, Sponsors, Privacy |
| Account | My events, Profile, All-events leaderboard |
Each item appears only when the event uses it.
Polls, Q&A and surveys
- Polls: vote on an open poll and see the results.
- Q&A: ask the speaker a question. The organizer may review questions before they appear.
- Surveys: answer the event's feedback surveys.
Home's Live now list tells you when a poll, Q&A or survey is waiting, so you rarely need to look for them.
Rewards and leaderboards
On events with points and badges turned on, you earn points for taking part.
- Leaderboard ranks attendees of this event, with your own position pinned.
- Badges shows the badges you've earned and the ones still locked.
- Referral gives you a link to invite others, when the event has referrals turned on.
- My Stats and the All-events leaderboard (in the avatar menu and under Account) cover all your events.
Recordings and materials
After the event, Recordings and Materials list what the organizer has shared. Each item is either free, free for attendees, or paid. A locked item links to the event page where you can buy access.
Event info, sponsors and privacy
Event info has the event details and venue, Sponsors lists the event's sponsors, and Privacy shows your privacy and consent settings for the event.
